Meet Ali

Hi & welcome here,

I’m Ali. I’m a somatic practitioner - trained in trauma aware somatic coaching, internal family systems, breathwork & trauma informed yoga.

I’m also an Irish Mother of two, a lover of decolonised liberation centric practises & a wilderness seeker.

I discovered the somatic modality, many years into a journey to wholeness, following the end of a toxic relationship and the death of my Mother.

Up to that point I had always turned to yoga as a way to find relief & balance but I continued to struggle in weaving that practice into my reality.

It wasn’t until the somatic practice really began to land in my body that I realised I had been living my life in a state of complex PTSD.

My nervous system was completely exhausted and needed some very deep care & rest.

The non-linear and non-forceful approach of Somatic work has helped me in this process by allowing me to slowly attune to the needs of my body in a way that feels truly rooted in safety.

It is an approach to healing that challenges the dominant narrative of hyper-individualised or isolated healing on a convenient timeline.

Here we heal in connection.

Through these practises I have started to reclaim my own connection to natures rhythm and also found a deep acceptance of the gritty & imperfect, beyond all the things I was ever told that life is supposed to be.

Why breathwork?

Breathwork is a powerful somatic tool for expanding our capacity to meet the sensations that arise in the body as we begin to challenge the limiting narratives we’ve been conditioned to believe.

With the breath we can bypass the "thinking" brain and directly access the autonomic nervous system, where many unprocessed emotions are held somatically (in the body). This can create a pathway for these held emotions to surface.

Through weaving breathwork as a ritual into our lives we connect more deeply to our own inner wisdom and our true wild nature, beyond all of the limiting patterns & belief systems.

Offerings

1:1 Somatic Support

Online or in-person, we meet bi-weekly for a 90 minute somatic explorative session, which will include breathwork & practises to take home if relevant. In these sessions we often explore childhood wounding in relation to how that is showing up in your life. We allow two weeks in between sessions for integration but supportive check-ins are also included in between.

Join the Community

Reconnect Wild Community is a bi-weekly online space for those of us looking for more connection in our rituals and in our lives in general. These gatherings are opened with a short breathwork practise and then community members are invited to share, listen, hold and be held. At times there may be a theme offered but mostly this will simply be a non structured and supportive group space.

Workshops & Events

Workshops & events take place both online & in-person. Online workshops may sometimes be completely free. Immersive breathwork & seasonal rituals are created as an embodied experience of reclaiming natures rhythms.
